The Naturopathic Physician seeks to identify and remove the causes of illness rather than simply suppress the symptoms, avoiding harm to the patient by employing techniques and medicinal substances that minimize the risk of side effects. In an effort to hinder the onset or the return of ill health, the Naturopathic Physician assesses the risk factors and predispositions, as well as the lifestyle of each client. Naturopathy emphasizes education and self-responsibility of the patient for maintenance of good health. An OB-GYN Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse who has advanced training in a specialized area. Nurse Practitioners are trained to perform a broad spectrum of primary care activities within their specialty and can prescribe gynecological medications. Each Nurse Practitioner has a collaborative relationship with a physician to whom clients are referred for further treatment as needed. Credentials for Jenny Demeaux Dr. Demeaux is a Naturopathic Physician and OB-GYN Nurse Practitioner. She received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington in 1985. In addition, she has had extensive post-doctoral training in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Demeaux has been a health care professional for 25 years with a background ranging from high technology medicine to primary health care overseas. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and is licensed as a Naturopathic Physician in Washington State. She is a Registered Nurse in both Washington and Colorado and a Certified Nurse Practitioner in Colorado. Dr. Demeaux has experience with both traditional Western medicine and naturopathic medicine giving her the ability to use either modality or a combination of both, as a condition requires or as the client requests. Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity. |
