Philosophy of Practice Patti Polman is a nationally certified and state licensed acupuncturist and herbalist who graduated from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1995. She practices a refined style of Japanese Acupuncture called Hari in combination with Chinese herbal therapies which are appropriate for both adults and children. One of the strongest assets of Chinese Medicine in general is the ability to translate the body's messages to better understand the needs of the body and the soul. Dietary and lifestyle options are also emphasized as an aspect of the therapy. Patti values education as a tool to empower each individual's opportunity to access this information in their own personal healing. The needle technique of Hari is a gentle, non-invasive needling style that employs gold and silver needles which touch or are superficially inserted at acupuncture points. When treating children, needles are not used. Instead, special pediatric tools are used to gently stroke the meridians, which guide the energy. While this form of acupuncture treats many common and complex conditions, it is also a valuable tool for general health and wellbeing. It is believed that Hari treatments can enhance life force or our connection to others and the universe by awakening the heart, which allows us to heal naturally. The pulse and abdomen are often referenced during treatments to give the practitioner feedback as the treatment progresses. Acupuncture is an ancient energy-based system that believes if the energy of the body is balanced, health is the outcome. If, however, the energy in the body is blocked, weakened or stagnated, symptoms arise in the body that ultimately result in physical, mental or emotional illnesses. To restore this balance, acupuncture techniques are used to allow the vital energy of the body to return to a balanced state. |
